Hi, I am new to Lactnet but so far finding it very useful & informative. I
would like advice for managing a client. She has had previous miscarriage,
no term pregnancy, wishes to induce lactation for baby being carried by
surrogate mother now 22 weeks. Difficult pregnancy which ?may not go beyond
30 weeks. ?? when to start breast stimulation. Would hormonal treatments
or medication be recommended? Surrogacy advisors have recommended motilium
or maxalon. If using them, when would you recommend starting.
My personal feeling is to delay breast stimulation until pregnancy reaches
at least 32 weeks or until baby is delivered - if baby very prem. then
start breast stimulation at time of birth & feed baby with EBM from birth
mother. I would be extremely grateful for comments. This mother wishes to
induce lactation for nutritional purposes rather than nurturing. If she
were to stimulate milk production prior to a prem. birth would
paediatricians in USA be open to using this milk for a prem. baby?

Thanks for any help.
Christine.
