Norma,
Your speculation that "stick to the ribs warmth" may be a factor in the
action of galactogogues reminded me of the Italian version - brodu, a
soup made with beef and vegetables that are then pureed and returned to
the broth.  Mom made it for me like her grandmother made it for her...
