I've been interested in this thread on oatmeal as a galactogogue.  In Mexico
(as well as in other cultures), nursing mothers are given "atole" a corn
starch or corn meal based gruel to make sure they have enough milk.  I wonder
if its the "stick to the ribs" warmth that may act as a galactogogue or
perhaps its the "comfort food" factor?
