Don't you just love the backhanded comments about breastmilk! Instead of
emphasizing that the off of the breast delivery system needs working on, the
word is that breast milk must be the problem. In the neonatal nurseries,
breast milk on a pump can be covered with the same light filtering bags we
use for vitamin-rich solutions that are light sensitive. Decreasing the
transfer of milk through several storage/delivery containers and other "
good to the last drop" techniques can help maximize the loss of important
nutrients. And since when does formula never loose some of the nutrients in
it? Share with the reporter LaLecheLeague Facts sheets and other
informative items that include why babies who are premature need breastmilk
and breastfeeding ,to reduce infections, to prevent necrotizing
enterocolitis, to stimulate digestion etc. No outside environment is going
to be exactly like the womb!
