Yes, Anna, I know someone. The mother is now a breastfeeding counsellor
(maybe one day IBCLC) and the"baby" now at school. The mother had already
fed her first child and so was not so worried about the breastfeeding as
the baby's surgery. It really would be similar to any mother with a sick
newborn requiring major surgery. My understanding is that the bowel
itself functions OK once the abdominal wall is repaired. Lisa Amir.
