hi all. a mom of a 5 month old baby has been experiencing some
difficulties recently with her milk letdown - it often seems to take a long
time to happen - and her daughter gets really frustrated, and everything
escalates.

she says it happens whether she is out or at home. i have encoruaged her to
get into relaxation mode - in a dark, quiet room, or whatever would help her
relax. also suggested warm bath or shower, massage, etc. to induce the
let-down reflex. any other suggestions of what might be causing htis, and
how to resolve it? she says her daughter tried to nurse for 30 minutes,
twice in one day - and just screamed and screamed until the baby was too
upset to even try anymore. today, however, it wasn't as bad - so it seems
to come and go.

could this be a supply problem - or jsut a let-down problem? this woman
lives in a rural area - far from any LLL meetings, or LC's. As far as i
know, she is not feeding supplemental bottles - at least not regularly
enough to disrupt supply, and her baby is not eating solids. she has been
feeling depressed and stressed lately - but that too comes and goes - and
this problem of course only exascerbates it. suggestions? ideas? thanks.
