And yet, we *can* make IBCLC just as acceptable if we so choose! Part of
the problem that I've seen is that it is readily accepted that RNs may
put down non-RN LCs and *assume* that they can't possibly know enough.
I'm more than willing to take the appropriate nursing courses to
complement my schooling and training. In fact, I've even investigated the
possibility of taking the ob/ped RN class locally, though they are not
set up for someone such as me to take such classes piece meal. The
problem is that they system is not yet set up to create LCs with all the
necessary stuff yet. I've had to beg and scrounge for the opportunities
to learn with I need to learn, and even then I've not received a lot of
support or help in gaining this information. The very same people who
would say that we don't know enough won't help arrangments to assure this
training.
