I think that experience is a real plus, but not mandatory. Rather, I
believe that the best predictor of success is a passionate belief in and
commitment to breastfeeding.  The LCs whom I have the most respect for
all seem to have this in common; passion drives skill levels and
knowledge more than "mere" personal experience.
