I have a mom that is nursing a 3-month old baby, Recently, the father hired a
lawyer to get custody of the baby. This mom is the single mother of four
other children (4,5,6,7 and the newborn), so she is pretty strapped for cash
and cannot hire a lawyer for herself. She nursed all of her children between
3 and 6 months, and hopes to make it past a year with this one as this will
be her last one. Right now the father is asking for overnight stays with the
baby, the mom has refused because her milk supply is suffering because of her
work situation, (she is using a M****A peddle pump three times a day at work,
but is very stressed because she has various supervisors that have told her
that she is taking too long on breaks and that she cant pump (of all places )
in the bathroom. I have given her tips on how to increase her supply and of
where to tell her supervisors to go....), but the situation is really the
lawyer herself. The lawyer is arguing that if the mom can pump for work then
she can pump for overnight stays for the father to be with the baby. This mom
has made it her goal to make sure baby never gets formula, but doesnt know
what else she can possible do in this situation. BTW, the father has NOT
wanted anything to do with this baby, until the mom received the call from
the lawyer.

I am wondering if anyone here can give me some information or references that
can possibly help this mom! She is a very strong, independant woman but I
fear that the separation(even overnight) of her from baby will only add to
the milk supply/stress problem. Help please! Thank you!
