For your interest, the company that makes fluconazole gives the dose for
infants *to treat simple thrush*, as 3 mg/kg/day for two weeks at least.
So, to treat simple thrush, it is okay to give the baby fluconazole for
two weeks in a dose that for a 50 kg woman (not that big) would be 150
mg/day, but a breastfeeding mother cannot use it. Hello, is anyone
home? Why am I not surprised that this is a physician in Ontario?

100 mg of fluconazole daily for 3 days will likely take care of her
vaginal candidiasis. The usual dose is a single 150 mg dose, but
perhaps she will get a better result with three days. Treating candida
in the breast, however, requires a much longer treatment. At least two
weeks.
