Hi All,
In regards to the twins, one with bloody stools, is this Dr nuts? So mom
stops BF for another 72 hrs. What kind of AIM is baby being fed? If it is
normal formula, then we know that bb will be assaulted with the dairy the
may be causing the problem. If it is Soy, there may still be a problem. It
takes several days (2+ weeks) for dairy to be completely out of mom and bb's
systems. Dr should know this (I would think). Mom should see improvement
by the end of two weeks, if not before, depending on the severity of the
allergy and on how much dairy mom consumed. This mom is wise, IMHO, to
question Dr's advice. What is he basing this on?
Mom needs to bide her time and read labels for anything dairy related, If
she is also avoiding peanut butter, then she needs to read labels for peanut
oils as well. If there is no improvement then something else must be going
on. If there is imporovement, challenge one of the two possible suspects
(dairy/peanuts) and see what happens. I don't know for sure what the
reccommended time to wait is, but I would wait at least one month after
blood is no longer apparent.
