I can say from a personal standpoint that we used the Bradley method with
our second child and I loved it. Bradley is natural relaxation techniques -
a goal of a natural unmedicated childbirth. I had the baby at the hospital.
I discussed my wishes - such as no epistomy and ivs ahead of time - we had a
birth plan - we discussed and compromised - even though I didn't want ivs he
asked that I have a heprin (sp?) lock put in so in case of emergency - I
agreed to that because we discussed and agreed upon it.
I have to say that after being induced the first time I was thrilled with
the way this second birth went. I don't feel that I gave the hospital or
doctor a hard time - any more than I felt they didn't respect my wishes -
communication is the key. Education is also important. I respected that if
something went wrong they would have my interests and the babies in mind.
Hope this helps
