You wrote about the mother with way more than enough milk and baby not
gaining well (too much foremilk; not enough fatty hindmilk).
I agree that she should give one breast per feeding or two before the other
one is offered, and, if any pumping for relief, it should be as little as
possible.
Some moms have had to set two hour or even four hour time slots for each
breast to be given as needed...... like from 2 to 4 is the left side and 4 to
6 is the right ...... or 2 to 6 is the left when needed and 6 to 10 is the
right side. That helps build the peptides on the overfull side to reduce the
milk supply ..... is my understanding.
This would also be a good test for cabbage leaves. Starting with two ten
minute wraps the first day, two the second day if needed and evaluate for the
next two days.
Post results if you find out. An overabundant milk supply can be a very
stressful problem. Mom stays drenched, too.
