Hi Lactnetters,

I am thinking about doing a study about mastitis. Has anyone seen any way of
assessing how unwell a woman is with mastitis - in order to measure
improvement. You could measure temperature, she could fill in a pain score -
but this doesn't tell us the whole picture does it? Longer outcomes could
be: use of antibiotics (in days), rate of abscess development, premature
weaning. Any ideas on how to score illness severity in mastitis?
TIA
