There have been a lot of messages lately about moms with repeated bouts
of mastitis, in spite of vigorous efforts to pinpoint cause and
aggressive care plans. Has anyone tried using daily small prophylactic doses of an antibiotic, similar to what is done with kids with constant
otitis? I know this could have consequences, also, but having mastitis
4+ times in the course of several months or even a year cannot be a good
thing, not to mention the possibility of weaning. Heard about this at an
ILCA conference quite a few years ago and wondered if anyone is doing it
and what are the outcomes?
