I have seen two babies with gastrochisis.  Both, over time, received at
least some human milk feeds from pumped milk. Depending on the severity and
amount of surgery and time frames, baby may be more or less willing to go to
breast.  Hopefully they have been allowed to suck on pacifiers or an "empty"
breast a little bit to keep them receptive to oral feeding.  The first baby
I worked with was not allowed to do so, and was extremely aversive to things
going anywhere near her mouth.
