Kathy:  The issue of bf while pregnant has been discussed and I'm sure
you could find a lot of detail in the archives.  My understanding is that
except for a woman with a known history or at high risk for premature
birth, bf does not pose a risk, but I don't recall any studies.  As
usual, we shouldn't be looking for references to support her continued
bf, but rather be asking her OB to provide the references that support
his/her contention that she needs to wean.  Hope this helps.  Alicia.
