Anaemia is not a contraindication to breastfeeding.  The only problem is
that anaemia often makes you tired.  The bright physicians were probably
thinking that the blood transfusion might give the mother HIV and
therefore pass it on to the baby.  Ridiculous.  I presume the blood has
been heat treated.
