Dear all,

Thanks so much for the cyberhugs sent my way, and especially to Willow for
that wonderful tribute which made me cry and blush....

Do you ever get the feeling, "I just can't do this any more? There's just
too much work and not enough me?" I think I had gotten to that place, and
the posts about health professionals and making moms wean for no reason, plus
a couple of similar scenarios that came in on phone consults just sent me
over the edge. But I am reminded of the story of the little girl who was
observed to be walking along a beach throwing stranded starfish back into the
ocean. A man asked her what she was doing -- she couldn't possibly make a
difference in the number of starfish that had been stranded. She paused,
threw another one back into the ocean, and said, "Well, you see, it made a
difference to that starfish."

So we go on, one mother and one baby at a time, and we will make a difference
in some lives. And I guess I won't bail out and open that bookstore quite
yet....

Thank you to all -- I can't imagine what it would be like without your
support. And thank you too for the stories of the good reports and good
health professionals that have helped restore my faith....

Love to all,
Jan
