This concerns me. From what I have read, I can't see how these
programs are consistent with IBLCE's "Code of Ethics" which requires
an IBCLC to "Base her/his practice on scientific principles, and on
current research and information". They may also be inconsistent
with ILCA's Standards of Practice for LCs which cover all LCs, not
just IBCLCs. Can anyone who comment?
Of course "coming aboard" may mean smart LCs who have learnt ways to
work within the system, to help mothers who still insist on following
these programs. It may not mean the LCs follow or advocate it
themselves. I think we need to be careful about this because it may
be hard to distinguish.
