Hi everyone on Lactnet, Please try to beg, borrow, or buy a copy of today's
New York Times. Sunday, Jun 8, 1997. The front page article, as Barbara
Hayes has already mentioned, discusses the issue of HIV and its transmission
via breastfeeding. We really won't be able to discuss this subject
intelligently if we haven't read the article. I am torn between thinking that
the article is another formula company "plant," and wondering how we will be
able to get formula to all these babies who are at risk. (And how do we
determine that risk in countries that do not have the resources to test every
pregnant woman?) I look forward to hearing from those of you with more
knowledge and experience in this matter.
