I think you are right. But let us all make sure that this is what we are
saying: breastfeeding MAY REDUCE the risk of SIDS, pointing out or
explaining that there seems to be less SIDS in babies fed human milk, not
zero, but less. The more explaining, the more informed parents, the less
guilt and anger. (Our liability insurance understood it, and published a
very forceful article on the importance of good communication between
patient and physician, many, many years ago)
