Good for you for going through with your lecture and not being intimidated by
these formula reps. sitting in the front row. I don't even like to speak to
them.....I would suggest that before  your next lecture is scheduled, you
speak to whomever has arranged this hospitality, and if you cannot get a
different wednesday, ask to be able provide your own donuts and coffee (with
a large sign indicating such), instead of the formula reps. (and make sure
they are notified not to bring refreshments that day).  You cannot prevent
them from listening, ( can you?) and maybe they will even learn something.
