Any suggestions for follow up with this case? My first inclination is to
defend myself with a fully referenced letter on why I felt this baby was in
imminent danger and explaining LLLI does NOT generally get this involved in a

Anne,
I would send a brief note thanking him for contacting you with the outcome.
I would BRIEFLY reiterate that based on the info you had of brick dust, no
stools, low urine, whatever, and since the mother did seem somewhat
overwhelmed and inconsistent with reports, you felt it was prudent to persist
with your followups and calls to md. You might even say something like
although you are there to always help families achieve their own bf goals,
your rule no. 1 has always been FEED THE BABY.
Then he'll know from where your zealousness really came.
