My son got his teeth early, and I got bad abrasions from him rubbing his
top gum with erupting teeth on my breast. We solved it by nursing "upside
down" (both of us lying on our sides, with his feet by my head. This put
the "rounder" contour of my breast at the top of his mouth and let me heal
up pretty quickly. (A bit gymnastic, but it worked!!) I did *not* let
him bite--pretty sure this happened just from natural friction from
erupting incisors.
