Debi,

I will E-mail my phone number privately, but I wanted to talk about the
baby refusing the tube. How old is the baby? How long has the adoptive
mother been nursing her?

It is uncommon for a young baby to refuse the tube. However, I have
seen a three week old baby who would have nothing to do with the tube of
the most widely prescibed feeding tube device. When we substiuted my
favorite device, the baby took right to it and continued nursing with it
until she was three years old. The tubes look about the same and feel
about the same to fingers. However, there are some differences in the
texture and feel that are noticable to the baby's mouth. Also, with the
one device, mothers usually use tape, which the baby may not like the
feel of either. Switching devices may be helpful.

Aloha,
Darillyn
