Pearl,
Anemia can predispose a mother to mastitis and/or is possibly related to
low milk supply, but it should not in and of itself be a contraindication
to breastfeeding, unless the doctor was referring to the blood
transfusion issue. If the blood was "clean", then I can't see the
reasoning behind such a recommendation.
