I don't know what happens in other areas but in the hospital I worked in (in
the chicago suburbs), mothers who were having c-secs usally received
antibiotic via the IV while she was in labor and post-delivery.  She may not
even have known it.  I was lucky enough to have access to the chart and could
check meds given during L&D.  So when a mom presented with thrush symptoms,
if she had a c-sec that often confirmed it for me (that she had received
antibotics). Hope this helps.
