I hope I'm not missing something obvious here, but I saw a mom today with 5
wk old that feeds from left side just fine, and has had trouble with right
side since delivery. The right nipple is a bit longer & larger, is bright
pink, but no cracks or bruising. No typical thrush symptoms, but mom does
have white patch on tip, which loosened & could be "rubbed off" after
feeding. It did not look like a plugged pore, as the white patch was on the
surface, like white patches of thrush in a babies mouth. Mom tries to feed
from right side 2-3 x/day, as she can tolerate, and pumps when she can't.
Positioning & latch-on look good on both sides. Mom also reports an
occasional pea sized lump at 12 o'clock at areola edge (right side) that
subsides after feeding/pumping. Mom has to pull both top & bottom lips out
at latch-on, every time. Any suggestions???? Please post or private email!
