Dear Willow,
The loosening you describe is due to an enzyme released during pregnancy
called hyaluronidase.  I don't know how long it would continue to be released
after the birth as it is there to loosen cartilage for the birth.  I have had
mothers who have had a hip put out from birth especially from a posterior
baby who works the area while turning.  Postpartum massage and Chiropractic
adjustments have elliminated the problem without having to use drugs that
might not be conducive to breastfeeding.
