Dear Judy,
I just wanted to point out to you one very important fluid that you left
out - Water! Water is very, if not most, important to drink while
breastfeeding.
As for certain foods, some mothers find their breastfed babies are
sensitive to dairy in their diets. But notice that I said "some". Not
all. I never had any problems with dairy. Some women think that they need
to drink a lot of milk in order to produce enough breastmilk. This is not
true. Breastfeeding moms need to eat a well balanced diet. As long as
they are healthy, their baby should be healthy.
Also, some moms notice effects of the caffeine in caffeinated drinks and
chocolate on their babies.
I would like to recommend some reading to you. Read La Leche League's New
Breastfeeding Answer Book. Start with pp 97-99.
Good luck!
