Deb, Firstly, I do not think this is a LLL issue at all. This is just an
issue of manners and consideration for other people. I think that she felt
like heh, I get paid for work already, I *know the mom*, I want to
help...and I don't need this fee. I am also surmising..and don't really
know what this LC thought. What I do know is that until we start to value
each other and our services, professionally, we will not have earned the
title of "professional." You have to walk the walk, not just talk the talk
of professionalism.
I also don't think this has anything to do with LLL. It is something,
though, to do with being a lactation professional. The leader knew the mom,
and wanted to help. She probably didn't even give your feelings a thought.
