We are presently updating our protocol for feeding EBM to our premies
and are interested in any new literature on the addition of human milk
fortifiers to EBM. At present, our unit feeding protocol utilizes
fortifiers when breastfeeding babies have been feeding for 2 weeks and
our unit breastfeeding committee has never been able to get good
reasoning as to why, so we are looking for research/information to
support or eliminate this practice. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Susan Jones, RN, IBCLC
