As described, (words are always a problem, I think the baby won't be able
to get a good mouthful and will arch away to try to facilitate better
attachment.. Babies need to lead with their chin. The least degree of
tipping the head forward on teh neck pushes the nose into teh breast and
the chin away. Try it with a balloon. Chin down = nose in. Chin in = nose
back; kid can breathe, doesn't arch..When well attached all you'll see is
the curve of the cheek meeting the curve of teh breast, and maybe some top
lip: bottom lip visible means too far away (or prem minus cheek fat pads)
Breastfeeding = "two curves meeting at the mouth" (Who said that?)
