Washington State has two bf bills before its Legislature currently, one
that will protect/clarify a woman's right to bf in public, and another that
will reward businesses that provided flexible scheduling and proper
facilities for women who nurse their babies or who pump and store bm for
them. It is exciting but scary, given what NJ just went through trying to
get the wording to not make it seem as though breastfeeding is a disability
requiring special considerations. Reps. Cody and Costa are responsible for
the introduction of these bills. I will keep you posted on this as best I
can if this is appropriate for Lactnet.
