<< While many members, including some
directors, subscribe to LACTNET, the Board of Directors feel that this
forum is not the appropriate venue for the discussion of association
issues, particularly those of a controversial nature. However, in view
of the fact that considerable discussion regarding the association
issues has occurred on LACTNET, the Board hopes this response will
provide clarification and reassurance. >>
I am sorry but I disagree strongly. These changes were slipped past us. I
have been talking to members who are not on LACTNET and they are shocked and
dismayed they were not informed adequately about the changes in the by-laws.
They would have liked to have been able to hear discussion and information
on all sides about the issues that were changed. They wanted to vote
intelligently and now feel they were not given the opportunity to do so.
They trusted their board and representatives completely and are confused.
People are free to discuss this anywhere they wish, especially the
controversial issues. If it had not been for LACTNET this would have neve
come to the attention of the membership.
Jane Bradshaw RN, BSN, IBCLC and ILCA member since the very beginning.
