Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is for Pam Wiggins request for absurd information re: BF. I was
reminded today when explaining milk production to a mom of a story told me
by one of the peer counselors I trained at the WIC agency I worked at in
Missouri. We were discussing feeding frequency, probably. She was a mom
who'd BF all 4 of her children and was told this by her pediatrician with
baby #4. It goes something like this...*don't breastfeeding any more often
than every 2 hours. It takes that long for the breasts to fill back up
again after a feeding. If you do BF any more frequently than that the baby
will be sucking AIR and it will give him gas.*

Isn't that just a hoot!!!!!!!!! Hard to imagine an educated physician could
have said such a thing! I'd like to know where he came up with that! Anyway,
that's one I'll never forget.

Since it's been a while since I've posted, a quick reintroduction...Melody

area 1 1/2 years. Formerly from Sikeston, MO...lived there 5 years. Before
that, lived in NW Arkansas 18 years where all my children were born and
became LLLL. Raised in Chicago area, where my husband is from also. That
should about do it for now.

Till next time,
