tAs you know, there are currently two bills before the WA Legislature
concerning breastfeeding, HB 1194 and HB 1213. I have learned that there
are also breastfeeding bills before the Senate. Here is the url for the
texts of SB 5885 and 5884, which appear to be extremely similar to the two
House bills:

Regardless of the similarity, the senators listed as sponsors on these
bills should be contacted and given our support. They do appreciate it. The
problems that HB 1213 is experiencing may not be entirely avoidable, since
they are mostly "politics as usual." But we can try.
Again, HB 1213 is in serious trouble. Since Democrats sponsored it, the
Republicans are all trying to kill it just for politics' sake. That was not
a political comment, just the reality of what's happening in WA State's
biggest kindergarten class. Unless the bill is voted on by Wednesday, March
5, it will die in the Committee on Law and Justice and will not be
re-introduced in this Legislative Session.
I have a fact sheet on HB 1213 with all the pertinent phone numbers,
emails, etc.
