From Hale (1996):

  "  AHL= 13 - 55 hours
     PK = 0.5 - 1 hours
     M/P= 1.5
     Oral= 50%   "

  " Depending on the maternal dose, the amount in breastmilk could be
     quite significant. One infant death has been reported in a breastfeeding
     mother receiving maintenance methadone therapy. The AAP approves
     breastfeeding in patients undergoing methadone therapy if the dose is
     less than 20 mg/24 hours. Use extreme caution. "

  " Adverse Effects: Nausea, vomiting, constipation, respiratory depression,
     sedation, withdrawal syndrome  "

A FAX sheet (No. 1280) is available. For information, call (806) 358-8138.
