Yes Barbara!  I have definitely seen the tongue shortened and thickened and
apparently almost glued to the roof of the mouth in the "hungry" baby (e g
Day 3 postpartum and still not breastfeeding/latching at all).  And then a
day or so later (after sufficient EBM to normalize urine output) the tongue
comes down and the baby goes on to the breast like a dream.  I'm sure you're
right.  How clever of you to find a reference to a latching difficulty in
the bible!
