We have a client who has been nursing well for 7 weeks and has
begun having "excruciating, stinging pain" in one breast only that
begins a few minutes into the feeding and lasts for about an hour
afterwards. She says it begins in the breast behind the nipple and
follows a line (along a duct?)at the bottom or inside of one breast.
This was a phone interview, so we have not seen the breast. She says
she has no nipple pain or redness, and that there are no symptoms of
thrush - no rash, white spots in mouth no vaginal yeast infection.
Also
no fever, red streaks, or nipple trauma visible. We told her we would
ask on the Lactnet to see if anyone has an idea or suggestion about
this. She just saw her MD. Any ideas? We'd really appreciate your
 input. Thanks!
