 Regarding guaifenesin and dextromethorphan.  Both these medications
 are included in preparations specifically designed for children,
 including young children and infants (Triaminic, for example).  If
 mothers find they get relief of symptoms, they should feel that they
 can use them without worrying about the effects on the baby.
 Dextromethorphan is good for symptomatic treatment of cough, but
 should not be used when cough is productive.

 Nose drops are often far more effective, and even less of a concern
 than these combination oral preparations.
