The following is a clip from a post that I received on another list, it
is posted here , with the permission of the orginal poster. I am posting
it here as "food for thought"
begin quote
"Evidentally, a midwife posted
some info on a birth, no names, but I suppose enough information that
another
midwife had printed it off her email and actually gave it to the
patient.
Well, the patient was furious. This sparked a discussion as to whether
to
close the list. I suppose they realized a lot of people who subscribed
to the
list weren't even medical personnel, probably a few lawyers as well. The
big
debate came down to who should have access to their list. The range of
education on the list varies, from people who are student midwives,
direct
entry mw's, and cnm's. The last suggestion before I left was they were
only
going to limit it to people catching babies. Well that would rule me
out, I
am a L&D nurse and in every attempt try to let the Dr do that."
