Hi all!

Just received the brochure for the annual March of Dimes Perinatal Nursing
Conference which is held in Chicago every (freezing cold) February.
 Traditionally, Mead Johnson sponsors the conference and provides the
brochure, the program booklet, faculty honoraria and a reception.  Skimming
through the concurrent/workshop sessions, I came upon five items that warmed
the cockles of my heart:

"Bf Promotion in a WIC Setting...." Kiran Saluja, MPH, RD
"Shattered by Early discharge:  Picking up the Postpartum Pieces" Margaret
Jansson, RN, MSN, IBCLC
"Triaging Bf Phone Calls..." Nicki Ward, BSN, IBCLC
"Bf Management and Promotion among Native Americans in WI"  Barbara Stoddard,
IBCLC
"Implications of sexual abuse relative to pregnancy & Childbirth  Cecelia
Deslauriers, RN, CLC

Now, why did these particular items -- five sessions out of 27 particularly
strike me?  Partially because it is the most number of bf sessions I believe
the M.O.D. has ever had at a conference (last year there were 2), but
primarily because underneath each one of these sessions was a statement:
 "This speaker and presentation are not funded or supported by Mead Johnson
Nutritionals."

What a wonderfully powerful statement to make!  I'm proud of all five of them
for standing up for what they believe in!
