I have a woman who is day 4 following a normal delivery. Her right
>breast is lactating beautifully and satisfying baby very well . Her left
>breast is very full, hard and lumpy however and very little milk transfer
>takes place on that side.I was able to express some 35mls milk which
>reassured her that at least the breast wasn't full of tumour. She has a
>history of being extremely concerned about cancer in that breast and has had
>a benign lump removed.
Ruth,
Could it be possible that scarring from the lump removal procedure could be
causing blockages? Let-down is *endocrine*, so by definition would occur
bilaterally. Sounds more like physical obstruction of some sort. What do
others think?
