Hello everyone! After a 6 month break I've signed back on to this wonderful
list. My name is Debbie Shinskie - wife of 10 yrs to Don, and mommy to
Christianne, Katie, Jonathan, & Andy who we have recently started
homeschooling. Our life has had a bit of turmoil as hubby started back to
grad school in the fall. I think we're settled now! I am currently working
as a parttime LC for Pinnacle Health System in Harrisburg PA (Hi Barb!) and
also work for BSC as an instructor. It is so good to be back here and I
want to share to bits:

First I am doing some research for a project and came across this just today
and it sure made me smile. In Tabor's Medical Dictionary the definition
describing Barlow's disease (related to vit C deficiency) refers to
_...occurs in both NATURAL & bottle-fed babies..._ Mine is a 1981 edition -
how wonderful to see the medical literature calling bfing what it truly is!

Secondly Hi Dr. Newman! No, you certainly do not speak to empty space. I
have been applying your thrush regime since the 1995 BSC conference in
Hershey and with much success! Just last week an OB consulted with me for
her patient with suspected nipple thrush and was pleased with the outcome -
it worked! I passed along your teaching sheet and the real dirt on the
animal research with gentian violet. Needless to say she passes along her
thanks, as do I! As you note, it makes the LC's job so much easier if she is
in an area with thrush knowledge deficit, as no script is needed. I suspect
that many of us are wary of litigation and shy away. Keep sayin' it and it
will sink in! See you in Nashville!
