Hi and Happy New Year to all!! I just wanted to share a website that I found
quite by accident while doing a search for the new formula additives. It is
for Martek Biosciences Corporation which is the company that manufactures the
DHA/ARA additives. At first glance, it is pretty sickening but if you look
at all of the studies and all of the mentions of breastfeeding, it is not so
bad. I have even "borrrowed" some of the text and used it to show how the
formula companies are desparately scrounging to come up with something that
is comparable to breastmilk. I have started informing my clients about these
new additives and do let them know that of course the company is stating that
these additives insure optimal brain development---so I guess the kids that
grew up on the other stuff have "sub-optimal" brain development. I also
remind them that this is only one ingredient of many that formula is lacking.
So DHA improves brain development.......wonder what the other missing
ingredients are for???? Here is the website
