I work in 4 hospitals where there is *no* automatic glucose monitoring
of large or small babies. There should never be any automatic anything.
When things become automatic, the thinking stops. I know there are
hospitals in the Toronto area where there is automatic glucose
monitoring of every baby! That is because there are some pediatricians
who have heard or believe that unless babies are monitored and
supplemented early, they get brain damaged. I guess they make up part
of the study group.
