I'm beginning to get fed up with receiving messages on my machine similar to this:
"Hello, SUSAN. This is DR. so and so calling about xyz..." Now in Israel, where
almost everybody from school teachers to the Prime Minister are called by their
first names, I'm pretty tired of this high and mighty status doctors have. A mom
who is older than her OB calls him Dr. while he calls her by her first name. I also
see this in hospitals and clinics where I work. Are nurses, LCs, PTs and
technicians on an inferior level? I'm sure the MDs are not aware that some of us
find this insulting. Any ideas about how to graciously let our colleagues know that
patients and health professionals deserve alittle respect too? How do you all feel
about this? (And no, this is not a sexist issue. Female MDs do the same thing.)

I'm really confused about this mineral/spring water issue. Since drinking this
stuff is so popular here - we all have it delivered by the gallon weekly -
I'm wondering if any of you chemists could plug into the net site provided by Nofia
or Toby yesterday and give an opinion. And yes, the terms spring water and mineral
water mean the same thing in Hebrew. "Mei Eden" has kind of turned into a generic
name like "kleenex" or "coke."
