There have been a few reports of stroke in women taking bromocriptine.
Surely this was a trivial and wrong headed reason (after all, severe
engorgement is not only milk, but also edema) to prescribe this drug.
The baby should be breastfeeding, why is this mother pumping?
The pharmacist is yet another who should be sacrificed. Why 5 or 6
days? Why on earth. Bromocriptine is contraindicated in
breastfeeding mothers because it decreases milk supply, not because
the tiny amount in the milk is dangerous to the baby. The mother can
breastfeed immediately.
